Odd Culture

A look at what's on across the group — every activation, takeover and standing programme, in one place. — Week ending 5 July 2026 —

Spike · The Old Fitz

Christmas in July, live now.

The Bistro takeover at the Old Fitz lands Saturday 25 July, and the campaign has been live across socials since 24 June. This is the marquee winter booking driver — get it front of mind.

It's aimed squarely at EOFY corporate bookings, and the slots go quickly once the campaign's out. If anyone mentions a Christmas party — or a work do — point them at this. Mulled wine, the full roast, and a proper pudding: the room's set up for it. Push the group-booking enquiries now while there's runway before the date.

The Old Fitzroy Hotel

Father's Day is locked, and comedy returns on the 27th.

Father's Day is confirmed for September and goes live to the public from 6 July, the July comedy night lands on the 27th, the Grifter feature and tee keep running, and the winter standards hold. The Young Henrys fireplace covers the Fitz too. (Christmas in July is the week's headline — its card is up top.)

Spike · 6 September

Father's Day, locked in.

Father's Day at the Fitz is confirmed — event date Sunday 6 September, with the campaign going live to the public from 6 July.

It's locked, and the What's On page and access rules are being set up this week ahead of go-live. Nothing public to push until 6 July, but it's worth knowing it's on so it's on the radar for any early booking conversations — the September long-lead enquiries start surprisingly soon.

Monthly Comedy, back on the 27th.

The July comedy night at the Fitz is set for 27 July, and it's live across socials from this week.

The standing monthly comedy slot — a reliable mid-winter draw for the room. Now live on socials, so keep the push going through the fortnight and mention it to anyone in for a drink who's after a night out.

King Street Crawl, 12 July.

The cross-precinct crawl returns to King St on Sunday 12 July. Both rooms in play; the campaign's been live since 10 June.

This one brings consistent foot traffic across both venues, so it's worth keeping the date in mind for any private-booking conversations that might run up against it. The poster's out and live — the entertainment detail fills in closer to the day.

Bastille Day runs mid-July with the food-and-drink offer still being confirmed, the Sunday roast keeps running, the weekly wine spotlight rotates, and a bottomless cabaret brunch — now funded — is lined up for August. First Table and a Bistro Father's Day are in the mix too.

OCN & Bistro · Spike

Bastille Day, mid-July.

Bastille Day runs across OCN and Bistro Grenier from 15–17 July — the food-and-drink offer is still being confirmed before the detail goes out to the team.

Three days of it, planned to go live to the public around 2 July once the offer's locked. Worth knowing now so it's on the radar for booking conversations across the Newtown end of the precinct — the French-leaning Bistro is the natural home for it.
